Neck pain

Neck pain is a common complaint and can be caused by accident or injury, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs to just waking in the morning with a stiff or painful neck. Triggers can be holding one position for an extended amount of time such as painting a ceiling, poor posture, or a sports injury. The pain can be a nagging ache or be as severe as the inability to find a comfortable position.

Home remedies used are usually applying ice or heat and/or over the counter anti-inflammatory medications. When this doesn’t help it is wise to consult with your chiropractor. Dr. Stine will have you perform some neurological and orthopedic testing and x-rays will be taken if warranted to find any degenerative disc disease or other conditions to explain your neck pain. He will go over your condition with you in detail and prescribe a personal care regimen to help manage your condition without surgery with the goal of getting you back to your normal daily life activities as soon as possible.

Back pain

80 percent of Americans will have back pain at least once in their life time. This usually results in time missed from work. Structural problems may also result in back pain such as bulging disc, Ruptured disc, arthritis, and scoliosis.

Headaches & Migraines

Headaches are can vary from mild aching to moderate pain, usually on both sides of the head. They tend to last anywhere from 30 minutes to days. There are neck conditions, muscle strains or spasms that will contribute or even cause your headaches. Some of the most common types of headache are cluster headaches, sinus headaches, and tension headaches. They are less severe than Migraines.

Migraines are more intense or severe. They may have accompanying symptoms such as nausea, seeing spots or flashing lights, to sensitivity to light and/or sound.

Treatment used may be medication, getting rid of any triggers, to taking steps to reduce stress. If you have never tried chiropractic care, you owe it to yourself to see a chiropractor to help manage your pain. Dr. Stine has had great success with both headaches and migraines relief.

Myalgia/fibromyalgia

If you have muscle pain, you may take medication for the symptom but it never really dissipates completely. This may further cause you to feel your energy is drained, some depression, and in some cases inability to work or play. Left to continue over time the myalgia may become a chronic condition and more difficult to find the cause and provide a remedy.

Your condition may be due to an infection; Lyme disease, influenza, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, etc. Drug related; statins, fibrates, ACE inhibitors, etc. Blood tests may be necessary in these instances. Diet analysis may also be beneficial.

Stine Chiropractic Clinic is equipped to help you find the answer to your health problems. You don’t have to live with the pain.

Herniated disc

Healthcare professionals do not always agree on which term to use to describe the disc involvement that may cause significant back pain or radiating leg or arm symptoms. You may have heard the terms herniated disc, pinched nerve, bulging disc, slipped disc, or ruptured disc to describe your symptoms.

The most common disc to acquire injury is the lumbar region of the spine because the L4/L5 and L5/S1 motor unit is the most used motor unit for movement of the body. You need this motor unit to remain “mobile” if at all possible and function without injury. Typical surgeries with spinal fusion immobilize this motor unit and this may compromise adjoining vertebrae structure integrity. Dr. Stine is a board certified chiropractic orthopedist and has proficiency in the evaluation and non-operative management of a myriad of injuries, conditions and disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system with particular emphasis on the spine and extremities. His favorite case to treat is the disc problem. He specializes in orthopedics and sports injuries.
